Prepare

Use olive oil drops 3–4 times daily for 3–5 days beforehand to soften the wax and make removal easier and more comfortable.

We Come To You

Sarah arrives at your home, conducts a full ear assessment, and walks you through every step before starting. Never rushed, always explained.

Does microsuction hurt?
Microsuction is generally very comfortable. You may feel a light tickling sensation and hear a gentle suction sound, but the procedure is painless for the vast majority of people. Sarah always works at your pace and will stop any time you need a moment.
How long does the appointment take?
Most appointments take 20–30 minutes including the ear assessment and consultation. There is never any rush — Sarah will always take the time needed to do the job properly.
Do I need to prepare my ears beforehand?
Yes — we recommend using olive oil or sodium bicarbonate ear drops 3–4 times daily for 3–5 days before your appointment. This softens the wax and makes removal much easier and more comfortable.
Why can't I get this done at my GP anymore?
From 2025, NHS GP practices stopped offering routine ear wax removal. Patients are now being directed to seek private treatment. Hear Me Out exists to fill that gap — particularly for elderly clients who cannot easily travel to a clinic.
Is it suitable for elderly or bedbound clients?
Absolutely — this is exactly what Hear Me Out was built for. Sarah's background in domiciliary care means she is experienced in working with older and more vulnerable adults. The appointment can be carried out in a chair, armchair, or bed if needed.
Can you visit care homes and nursing homes?
Yes. We offer regular scheduled visits to residential and nursing homes and work with your care team to build a visiting pattern that suits your residents. Group booking discounts are available — please get in touch for a tailored quote.
What if no wax is found in my ears?
If no wax is found, you won't be charged the full price. You'll only pay the £20 consultation fee for the ear assessment and Sarah's time. We are always completely honest about what we find.
How is microsuction different from ear syringing?
Ear syringing uses pressurised water which can cause infection, dizziness, and eardrum damage. Microsuction uses gentle suction with no water at all, under direct vision throughout — making it significantly safer, cleaner, and more comfortable. It is the gold standard in ear wax removal.
